Tokens
Tokens are what your organization applies to acquire an environment. Savant staff add them in batches, and each batch carries a lapse date. There is no way to add tokens from this site; if your organization needs more, ask your contact at Savant.
What is available
The Tokens page in the header opens with one line: how many tokens are available, and when the next of them lapse. Below it is the activity that produced that number.
The number is worked out, every time it is shown, from the same history you see on the page: each batch that has not yet lapsed, less whatever has already been applied from it. There is no separate running total that could drift away from the history. The Tokens page, the catalog and the API all do the same sum, so they cannot disagree with each other.
Lapsing
A batch lapses on the date it was added with. Tokens still in the batch on that date are gone; they do not carry forward into a later batch, and they are not returned. The line at the top of the Tokens page names the earliest of those dates so you can see it coming.
When tokens are applied, the batch that lapses soonest is drawn from first. A single acquisition may draw from two batches if the earlier one does not cover the whole price, and it still shows as one line of activity.
Lapsing takes nothing away from access your organization already holds. An environment acquired last month stays acquired for its full year whether or not the tokens applied to it would have lapsed since.
Reading the activity
Activity is listed newest first, with the date, what happened, and the number of tokens it added or applied.
| Line | What happened |
|---|---|
| Tokens added · lapse date | Staff added a batch. The date is when it lapses. |
| Acquired environment (type) | A member applied tokens to that environment. The name links to its catalog page. |
| Unapplied tokens lapsed | A batch reached its lapse date with tokens still in it. |
| Correction | Staff took tokens back. |
Pulling an image never appears here. Tokens are applied once, when an environment is acquired, and pulls for the year that follows cost nothing.
Choosing an organization
If you belong to more than one organization, the Tokens page shows the one chosen in the header. With none chosen it asks you to pick one rather than guessing.
